Our boats were built to fish offshore in comfort and were designed by captains with decades of experience fishing the edge.
We design our schedules with your needs in mind, never running back to back trips. By scheduling trips this way, you can schedule your trip time well in advance, making travel arrangements much easier. It also allows us to have flexible trip duration, never having to be back to the dock because we have another trip scheduled to go later in the day. Most importantly, it allows the crew to be well rested so we can give 110% throughout your trip. At Blue Runner Sportfishing, we are focused on quality over quantity.
While we are customer service driven , we realize fishing makes up an important part of your trip. The Blue Runner Team has been built with seasoned offshore captains and mates, led by Captain Mark DeBlasio. His commitment to excellence has made him one of the most consistent producers of the past three decades and has led to many major tournament victories, with winnings totaling over $2.4 Million since 2012. Saltwater Sportsman named Mark one of the Top 50 captains worldwide and Sport Fishing Magazine named Mark Top Charter Captain in the US in 2019.

Crew
Joe Miele
Joe grew up fishing the waters of SW Florida, making headlines as a teenager after catching a 17 foot Sawfish and a state record Redfish. After taking some time off from fishing to focus on family and business, Joe has returned with a vengeance. He spends his days now fishing the East coast and Bahamas for Tuna, Swords, Wahoo and bottom dwellers. Joe loves exploring new areas and techniques to keep the Blue Runner team ahead of the fleet. Joe is USCG licensed.
Mark DeBlasio
Mark has spent the last three decades fishing the waters of the US East Coast and Bahamas. He is equally passionate whether chasing Bigeye and Yellowfin Tuna in the Canyons, Giant Bluefin Tuna in New England and North Carolina or wreck fishing New Jersey for Blackfish and Sea Bass. Mark’s reputation as a consistent producer along with his friendly demeanor, have made Mark one of the premier charter captains worldwide. During his career, Mark has placed in over 50% of tournaments entered, put clients on an IGFA all tackle record, been named a Top 50 Captain worldwide by Saltwater Sportsman and most recently voted the 2019 Top Charter captain in the United States by Sport Fishing Magazine. Mark is USCG licensed.
Anthony Bianco
Anthony is a veteran in the sport fishing community, with almost 20 years of professional experience fishing the waters of the east coast, from Florida to Massachusetts. He began his career as a mate on Striper and Bottom fishing boats out of Atlantic Highlands and Shark River. He progressed to large, private Sportfish boats and joined the Blue Runner team in 2017. Since joining us, he has been a full time Captain on our boat “WATER PROOF”. He is USCG licensed and has extensive experience in Inshore, Midshore, Canyon and Commercial Bluefin fishing.
Darren Volker
Darren grew up fishing the waters of New Jersey and New York, running his father’s boats through his teens and early 20’s. After college, he purchased a 35 Bertram and began charter fishing. Over the next 15 years, he fished the Sandy Hook area each Spring and Manasquan Inlet during the summer and fall months. With over 25 years of experience on the water, Darren is a very well-rounded fisherman on both the inshore and offshore grounds and is a great addition to our team. Darren is running our brand new 32 foot Contender “MARY LOU CREW” out of Point Pleasant, NJ with a focus on 3-4 man charters. He holds a USCG 100 Ton Masters license.
Boats
The largest vessel in our fleet, Blue Runner, is 60 feet of pure luxury. Every amenity imaginable has been built into this 2012 Ritchie Howell Custom Sportfish, giving our customers the ability to entertain clients, family or friends in a safe, friendly, comfortable package.
Our three stateroom, two bath layout along with a massive salon and well equipped galley insure you and your guests will be comfortable for the duration of your trip. While the Blue Runner is very comfortable, she was purpose built for offshore fishing.
The huge teak cockpit features mezzanine seating and was designed for stand up tuna fishing. The bridge features a state of the art Simrad electronics package and ample seating for 6. Blue Runner cruises at 30 knots and will top out close to 40 Knots, giving you more time fishing and less time running.
The smallest boat in our fleet, Mary Lou Crew, is a 2019 Contender 32 powered with twin 300 horsepower Yamaha 4 strokes. Her 40 knot cruise will get us to the fishing grounds quickly and her stepped hull will keep us dry and comfortable along the way. She has plenty of fuel and range to reach the prime offshore Tuna grounds.
Water Proof is a Northern Bay 42 custom built by Morgan Bay Boatworks with multi day, long range trips in mind. Water Proof has been finished to Yacht quality standards and features every amenity to make your trip safe and comfortable. Her size, range, layout and speed make Water Proof ideal for groups of 4-6 to venture far offshore for multi day trips.
She is packed with big boat features like HD satellite TV, Ice maker, Water Maker, LED lighting and state of the art Simrad electronics. The massive cockpit features a built in fish hold designed to store your catch at the optimum temperature, two live wells, tuna door, Ice Maker, grill and greenstick.
